Women of Power in the Entertainment Industry
For so many years, decades as a matter of fact, women have been in backgrounds of the entertainment industry. The moguls that are acclaimed to be the best of the best in their particular field are all MEN. Women have consistently taken a back seat in the industry, this especially holds true for the music industry. We are constantly berated by the success' of Jay-Z, P-Diddy, Clive Davis and Berry Gordy. Why aren't the female producers and music moguls talked about in the same positive light as their male counterparts? Blogs, over the course of their existence have persuaded and informed many individuals about this issue. Many female artists and female entrepreneurs have resorted to "blogging" to make a positive name for themselves. They have also received recognition for being the "brains" behind the business. Now women such as; Wendy Williams, Whoopi Goldberg and Tyra Banks are now seen as a female positive influence in the entertainment industry as a whole. These women are the true definition of a mogul in their given field. Oprah Winfrey has been the most influential "Women of Power" in my generation and I'm sure generations to come. She has spearheaded many global humanitarian efforts as well as being the CEO of Harpo Studios and now the "Oprah Winfrey Network" It took many decades for this to be able to happen, without regards to color or gender. Let's hope that this can and will permeate throughout time and transcend any despairing negative beliefs.
